Today I was lucky enough to hit up another shaved ice hot spot with my friend Rachel! I had heard a bunch of awesome stuff from another friend, so I guess she had built my expectations of the place way too high. Pa Pa Walk is definitely not my holy grail shaved snow restaurant, but it's good. It's definitely pretty good.
Coming into the restaurant, I was already Class 302 biased, thanks to my previous adventure, so I was already judging when I first stepped into the place. It's a lot bigger, and though it didn't really have a theme like the former restaurant, I liked the place. It had bright yellow walls and overall had a happy feel to it. Class 302 reminded me of school. I may be Asian, but I don't love school that much.
The service was amazing. But then again, that is just me being biased. (And no, I'm not biased because the server was mildly cute.) They gave us time to look over what we wanted, answered all our questions about the difference between snowies and snow ices/sizes, and even accepted Rachel's debit card even though we hadn't spent $20. And they're really attentive. I was staring in the cashier's direction, trying to see if they were going to accept cards. Noticing me, he immediately sent over a waiter with the check. Pretty pleased.
But now, onto the food!

| Pa Pa Walk Mango Snowy, Large ($10.50) |
Maybe it's because I'm Asian, maybe it's just because I'm cheap, but I felt like $10.50 was not justified by the amount we were given. The serving size was around the same size of Class 302's--but $4 more. Yeah, I don't like that.
Taste wise, this was pretty good. I was kind of disappointed that this was purely mango and would have liked to see other flavors (like strawberry) included. The texture of the snowy is like powdered snow. It's very light and fluffy. Not only do they have condensed milk, they also had a mango syrup buried in the snow. I loved that it just enhanced the mango flavor. Fruits were fresh.
And I left a happy person.
While this may not be the best shaved snow I've had, this is a lot closer to me than Class 302. I will definitely be coming back.

Next, go to Fluff Ice and AU! haha..
ReplyDeleteAU's snow ice is new!! :D I haven't tried it yet... soooo :D :D :D
